Background of the Study
The rise of remote work has led to an increased reliance on online collaboration tools, such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom, to facilitate communication and coordination among team members. These tools are particularly crucial for IT teams, which often work in decentralized environments, requiring real-time collaboration and seamless project management (Lopez & Murphy, 2023). In Kaduna State, remote IT teams in various sectors are adopting these tools to enhance productivity and collaboration. This study investigates how the use of online collaboration tools affects team productivity and performance among remote IT teams in Kaduna State.
Statement of the Problem
While online collaboration tools are designed to enhance communication and productivity, some remote IT teams in Kaduna State may face challenges in maximizing the potential of these tools. Issues such as tool complexity, lack of training, or inadequate integration with other software can hinder productivity. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of online collaboration tools in improving team productivity and identify the factors influencing their success or failure.
